With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions we are super excited to be returning to our new expanded group fitness classes with outdoor and indoor classes scheduled for Monday 15 June.
We understand that some people maybe concerned about returning to face-to-face class but I wanted to re-assure you that we are taking all precautions and are following best practices as set by Australian Health Authorities and Fitness Australia guidelines. Your health and safety is our top priority.
Here is our safety plan and processes for returning to group fitness –
- Screening questions – clients will be asked the following questions to allow attendance
- Do you have COVID 19? .
- Have you been swabbed for COVID 19 or any respiratory illnesses?
- Have you been in direct contact with someone diagnosed with COVID 19?
- Have you traveled from interstate or a known hot spot in the last 14 days?
- Do you have any fever/temperature greater than 37.5 degrees or acute symptoms? eg flu like symptoms, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath.
- Social Distancing – Class structures/exercises will be changed to reduce sharing of equipment and social distances rules of 1.5 meters.
- Additional cleaning – We are now cleaning and sterilising our premise and equipment before and after each class/appointment.
- Very Low traffic numbers- Commercial gyms have over 1,000 to 3,000 members and we have small client numbers of less than 100 with our maximum traffic of 10-15 clients over a whole day.
- Small class numbers – We have always limited our class numbers for a better client experience with other gyms and fitness centres now following suit. Max clients per class is 10
- Staff – All of coaches are accredited in Infection Control Training – COVID 19 to ensure best safety practices.
- Reduced physical contact – Our coaches have been instructed to limit physical contact (within reason to doing our job). Some manual activities may be limited in this time e.g. assisted stretching and trigger point therapy.
Coronavirus response plan – Your requirements
- Thermal temperate – will be taken prior to any classes
- Hand sanitizer – is provided for all our clients and must be used before and after sessions.
- Towel – Although the virus is not transmitted via sweat, a towel will help reduce surface contact. A towel is compulsory to our sessions.
